Welcome to the Retiree's Corner. This section of the Aurora Fire Fighters Local 1290 Web Site will be used for the dissemination of information pertaining to all retired members of the Aurora Fire Department. I would like to thank Local 1290 for making this site available to all retiree's. I will be posting pension correspondence, retirement notices, pertinent articles and any other information members deem important. Retiree's Breakfast:  There is a scheduled retiree's breakfast the first Tuesday of each month at 0800 hrs. The breakfast is held at Le Peeps Restaurant, 15352 East Ida Drive, Centennial (Parker Rd. & Orchard Rd.). 303-796-7337. 

 

Old Hire Fire Pension Fund

 The (CPI) Consumer Price Index for 2008 is 3.9%. The pension fund allows for a CPI adjustment to the escalator if this number is more than the normal rank escalator. The FPPA has been notified to adjust the rank escalator from 2.0% to 3.9% for ranks Firefighter thru Captain, from 2,32% to 3.9% for Battalion Chief and from 3.16% to 3.9% for Deputy Chief and Fire Chief. This is retroactive to January 1, 2009.

  Retiree's ,  Cherry Creek Schools is looking for retired firefighters to be school bus drivers.  Full time and Part time positions are available.  Wages to start are $14.25 per hour WITH a benefits package of $244.12 for full time  and  $122.06 for part time .  Full and Part time positions are also paid a supplemental package of $140.87.
